“POZZIS, SAMARCANDA”

Dopo il successo ottenuto all’anteprima appena presentata all’MBE lo scorso fine settimana, giunge a Roma l’ultima produzione, in ordine di tempo, della Rodaggio Film.
Potrete vederlo integralmente venerdì 2 luglio (vedi qui il programma delle proiezioni) sullo schermo del teatro #4 di Cinecittà World.
Un percorso produttivo durato 3 anni, vede la luce Pozzis, Samarcanda, il film documentario dedicato alla figura di Alfeo “Cocco” Carnelutti e al suo viaggio in moto verso la leggendaria città dell’Asia.
Cocco e Stefano sono due amici improbabili legati da un unico obiettivo: arrivare a Samarcanda.
Cocco ha 73 anni e un passato tormentato, è affetto dal morbo di Crohn ed è l’unico abitante di Pozzis, un paese abbandonato sulle montagne friulane. Da sempre sogna di partire verso est in sella alla sua Harley-Davidson del 1939. L’incontro con Stefano, regista di 22 anni, rende il sogno realtà.
Nasce così un viaggio assurdo: 8000 km, fin nel cuore dell’Asia. Cocco in sella ad una moto inadatta a un percorso così estremo. Stefano al seguito, su un furgone con una troupe cinematografica, per realizzare un film sull’impresa e la travagliata storia dell’amico. Cocco ha scontato otto anni in carcere per omicidio, ma non vuole parlarne e Stefano teme che questo comprometta la riuscita del film. Tra le difficoltà di un viaggio che sembra impossibile per un vecchio motociclista, i dubbi di un giovane regista per la prima volta davanti alla macchina da presa, ed imprevisti anche drammatici, i due temono di essersi cimentati in un progetto più grande di loro. Solo la loro amicizia permetterà ad entrambi di raggiungere la propria meta.

After the success obtained at the preview just presented at MBE last weekend, the latest production, in chronological order, by Rodaggio Film arrives in Rome.
You can see it in its entirety on Friday 2 July (see the program of projections here) on the screen of the theater # 4 of Cinecittà World.
A production process that lasted 3 years, saw the light of Pozzis, Samarkand, the documentary film dedicated to the figure of Alfeo “Cocco” Carnelutti and his journey by motorcycle to the legendary city of Asia.
Cocco and Stefano are two unlikely friends linked by a single goal: to get to Samarkand.
Cocco is 73 years old and has a troubled past, he suffers from Crohn’s disease and is the only inhabitant of Pozzis, an abandoned village in the Friulian mountains. He has always dreamed of heading east on his 1939 Harley-Davidson. The meeting with Stefano, a 22-year-old director, makes the dream come true.
Thus was born an absurd journey: 8000 km, to the heart of Asia. Cocco riding a motorcycle unsuitable for such an extreme route. Stefano in tow, in a van with a film crew, to make a film about the company and the troubled story of his friend. Cocco served eight years in prison for murder, but he doesn’t want to talk about it and Stefano fears that this will compromise the success of the film. Among the difficulties of a journey that seems impossible for an old motorcyclist, the doubts of a young director for the first time in front of the camera, and even dramatic unexpected events, the two fear that they have ventured into a larger project than themselves. Only their friendship will allow both of them to reach their goal.
